"Recording Satellites was a new adventure for me because my label, Madison Records, brought in a new producer, Stefan Skarbek, from Mirrorball Entertainment. Stefan worked with one of my idols, Amy Winehouse, in the beginning of her career. Stefan really pushed me to connect deeper to my songs, the words in my songs, what am I really trying to say? I was listening to Lorde's Pure Heroine, Beyonce's Beyonce, so you can hear the pop influences with my signature funk. This album is a collection of songs addressing our ability to hold on to our past loves through technology and the adventure of falling in love outside of the tech world and truly feeling a connection, not the idea of the connection."
